I like this write...often times two people see the same relationship so differently...and when what we perceive as a great relationship ends, we are sometimes left to wonder...why? what went wrong? It's those questions that can haunt us and become our baggage almost more than the heartache of a failed relationship. Always second guessing ourselves in future relationships...losing some of the freedom to just be ourselves.
like the brief dialogue in this poem, really hits on the brevity and depth of relationships, the structure hits home for me too because if fits the transistory nature of relationships, and yes it does a have a Plath ring to it.
The style caught my eye and kept it through the read. Of course my mine was in the gutter. Hagar hush! OK but she has a prettky picture. HAGAR. The style is wonderful and the compactness of the write fit it well. I don't see the last line being a problem. I think Hagar has fallen for you. The ending tells all and is very well thought out. Good write
Isn't it funny how we sometimes think we did the wrong thing by expressing our emotions. Let love live, love comes in many forms. Keep loving~ ~ Jude xo
This is so true; you really do have to watch out about saying that because you can't take it back. In the heat of the moment people feel it at that time but it doesn't necessarily make it so. I think it's best to take a wait and see approach and give it a while. It's hard at times but in the end you're better of. Good write. T
Nice, easy flow to follow and the message is clear. There is that mystery with some relationships that seem to suddenly go stale after those three little words are said. There's nothing worse than hearing silence after saying it to another. What a nightmare! I think I've said those words long ago and later wondered why I even said them. Sometimes we think what we feel is love but it really isn't. And if someone leaves after hearing it, I say, begone!
Some people say those words too easily and then want to take them back...they become like a weapon and other times we're bewitched for whatever reason, the moon, something and we say it then wish we hadn't. You've captured these feelings well here. Perfectly even. I know sometimes I wonder about myself. I do have this knack for loving the wrong people and being completely happy until I wake up. :)
