Swimming To The Moon

Swimming To The Moon

A Poem by Chloe..Across the Universe
"

why not? would be good exercise

"

If i could fall into the ocean
i would swim to the Moon
plant a flower
paint a picture
gaze down at planet Earth
see all her seas
if i could fall into the ocean
i would swim to Mars
greet the Martians
with an earthy grin say,
look at me
i swam all the way to Mars
just to say Hello my Martian friends
why all the wars here?
Red planet
Look down at my homeland, Earth
Not red but lots of waring there as well
If i could fall into the ocean i would swim into the
arms of Venus
maybe her love could save us all

Oh yes, would be a good exercise indeed!! When does the next swim begin?
I would be anticipating the fall into the arms of Venus most of all!!

Thanks for your review Shelia :) We could jump in now i think ~
This would make a splendid children's book, although you might have to edit the end a little. A very engaging write.

beautiful idea of swimming to the moon, to mars, into any place
that offers love and salvation.

A smart idea.... and Venus was born in the ocean (of Cyprus, I seem to remember) so it would be easier to swim to her lol (and more rewarding *grins*)

Wonderful image! I see a calm ocean surface reflecting the moon and stars and planets...a magical night when the rules of physics have changed...and one can dive into the ocean and swim to (the reflection of) the moon. This would be possible in the world of dreams. There is more to this poem, with Mars (war) and Venus (love), and I imagine again this magical night when one could swim out into the ocean and find love and find war. Such wisdom that could be gained by swimming out into the ocean on this magical night I am imagining, I wonder what other reflections there are to be found. Great poem!

A nice, angelic, airy kind of poem that dances aloof across the mystical universe, looking down at the world miniaturised by distance; its problems and issues generalised by separation. One imagines being a child dreaming of flying away on spirit wings, wondering just what all the fuss is about..
And, of course, if only the world could be seen this way, then perhaps it would be all the more happier and peaceful for it. But it is not.
"greet the Martians
with an earthy grin say..." >>> these lines made me smile lovingly..!
This pretty poem somehow demonstrates that starkness of contrast between the reality we face and the dreams we dream of...

mind expanding and brings the readers thoughts to the stars, the concept behind this writing is celestial, and enlightening, i can only ask myself, how do you do it, i love reading works were one can just lose their thoughts into the notion, as well as the drift into the concept, when words create a vibe allowing the heart to travel along the artistic waveline, so many aspects of this writing can be pondered with visual uplifting effect, consuming, passionate, intense, yet gentle as moonbeams, thank you, mike
