Paint Me As I Am

Paint Me As I Am

A Poem by Chloe..Across the Universe
"

a poem

"

Paint me as I am
All the imperfections
Do you see them?
I mean, really, they are quite obvious
so paint them a shade of
grey

Paint me as I am all the consellations

I was runner up in the game of life

Never the winner

So paint them a hue of

if I only knew

Paint me as I am
Silliness
shyness
The shyness may not show so well
still
it's there
As for the silliness
it shines right through
So paint them a hue of
blue

Paint me as I am

All the love inside

I gave it away

You took it for granted

Sucked it up

Now I'm a half empty cup

Paint them a color of

sorrow

One you may have to borrow

if

It's not in your pallette

Paint me as I am
All the passion
joy
The happiness
once so apparent
Paint them a shade that is
transparent

Paint me as I am

The

sadness

insecurities

regerts

remorse

the losses

they hurt so hard

so paint them the

deepest hue of blackish blue

Paint me as I am
A heart as big as the Texas sky
Yet as empty as yesterdays coffee cup
Paint my heart many colors
but the crack
paint it the same shade of
if I only knew

My heart paint it

red

pink

purple

indigo

because it was once

alive

vibrant

Paint me as I am
Paint me like me
Tell me, what do you see

Fabulous
love the layout and comparisons
to your heart and all the hurt inside......

We tend to see so many emotions in
colours but always the heart red and
our moods many different ones.........
its amazing when we think that colours
represent so much in our hearts.

Very sad piece though.

I almost didn't realize that I reviewed this before. I still like it! It is funny because my last review I said I liked it colorless, and my thought before I noticed I wrote that was, I wish I could see it in color. I do like the idea of using color to describe emotion. Now let me go find one have not reviewed before. :)

i like it it's like body painting for the soul and emotions running through you. i think we share a common interest in styles. i can't wait to get my stuff on here for everyone. keep up the good work, most great emotional poems come from pain or anger and i truly enjoy reading you work. don't stop.thanks.

One of the best n' the bravest poems I have read on this freakin' site!!! I love the layout, all the space, the line breaks, n' the super-emotion you've splattered all over the page is OVER-F*****G-WHELMING!

"I was runner up in the game of life/Never the winner/So paint them a hue of/if I only knew"....what beautiful, bittersweet verse! Gonna definitely be reading more of your stuff, Chloe! ㋡

What a depth of expression... you speak of vibrant colors seen through the gray of a world in sorrow... I've been through depression and could relate to the pain.. the sense of numbness the colors create. Profoundly beautiful and bittersweet.

Even depression can serve the Muse. Excellent poetry, sorry about the depression though.

I love the phrase as big as the texas sky and as emty as the cup of coffee...this poem expresses so much..you have a lovely soul and i hope with all my heart that all the days that are to come are painted in brightest of hues for you.

Yes, the depression shows through.
It`s the dull, dull gray color.

Of course I don`t agree with your premise
about the empty heart , the part about
the color is all gone. Not so. You just feel
like you are used up . You probably have
found that out by this time.

Some long legged stranger snubbs his bronc
to the hitch`n post in front of the saloon and
you pobably just jumped up beind the saddle
and trotted off into the sunset, happy and whole
as the day you was 18.

Sorry. I got carried away.
It`s a very good poem.
Thank you for the read.

This is sad yet beautiful. I love the use of color to paint a portrait of your pain, sadness, etc. Great flow with the one-word lines adding emphasis. Hope all the sadness has fled and your life now can be reflected with much lighter hues now.
