Friendly Maple LeafA Poem by Pattishari
A maple leaf fell from a tree
It landed right on top of me Now you may say it was a coincidence A simple act of gravity And ordinarily I would agree But that little maple leaf perched itself upon my knee And looked directly right at me So close that it was all that I could see And by doing so interrupted my melancholy For you see I came to rest beneath this solitary tree Hoping it would swallow me The friendly maple leaf pulled itself down from its branch And let the air carry it down to comfort me © 2013 Pattishari |
