Beauty in Pain

Beauty in Pain

A Poem by Lovely Pattie

You so easily brushed it off like leaves on your porch.

Rubbed the brightness out of the sunshine that was once radiated on me.

You pushed in the sadness that follows you and it caused my head to spin.

It left ripples through my thoughts.

Relief of finally releasing your grasp is in my future.

A time that I will be able to finally breath and forget your taunt.

A need to not think of you.

The tightness of the rope that keeps us bound to another despite the cold truth of love's desertion is hard to take for anyone who gave so much for them. Your second line--"Rubbed the brightness out of the sunshine that was once radiated on me," is quite a creative way of explaining your feelings. Releasing the grasp is a slow process that shouldn't be thought of as impossible if the length of time it takes to do it seems like a chain attached to the soul. It can be done and I believe you'll move on and learn from it.

There is somewhat of a universal predicament we all go through although each is unique in some way.

Absolutely true. It is why we can relate because we have experienced it at some point.
