Fetal and Cold

Fetal and Cold

A Poem by Patricia Posada
"

I'm so gloomy.

"

I follow my memories
They lead me to my shady past
This internal fugue is ongoing
Sepia daydreams, impulses which everlast
I see your face and I tremble

Inside is like a trance
Out of control, sorrow has me overencumbered
I'm lost in a fantasy world of alters
None of which are you, I feel my days are numbered
I no longer feel your kiss

Dissociative, I keep this void internal
Like knives in my heart I hear your voice
I fall into myself and shake
How I wish i didn't know you, or that love was a choice
I no longer stand beside you

My day ends, and part of me is dead
Fetal and cold, I lie grieving alone in bed.
