The SeasideA Poem by Patrick SchultzA boy has a conversation with the sea about love--------------------------------- I went to the sea-side today And knelt beside the sea I told her ' I have fallen in love ' The sea replied ' I can tell ' ' How? ' said I She replied; ' I have birthed many sons and daughters and none, None have as much depth as the endlessness in which I now see in your eyes ' The boy got up and took in the afternoon breeze Whispering; ' I have been dragged under, my desire now an anchor, an anklet which I cannot unchain myself from' The sea looking toward the setting sun replied; ' Then be drowned by it, if you wish As long as your death is one worth emulating'
