Uninsured

Uninsured

A Poem by PatrickPink
"

My phone is well and truly battered, and so am I

"

Uninsured

there are

cr a cks

in my screen

where the wrong light

shines pallid    distorted
seeping out the gaps

head phones

wound

around

to

increase thetension

keep the music playing

backstained

fingerpints shattered

care     lessly

scratched to flesh

circuitry

damage doesn't stop

movement

I still shudder

conversation

rhythm

news

false

alarm

all my words

come out

wrong.

A Nice comparison of phones to humans occurs to me. scratched to flesh, circuitry damaged, cracks in the screen. Yes, definitely us.

Excellent. The form adds to the emotion.
