I immediately thought politicians when I read this short poem. Mistrust, yes indeed. Those elected by their constituency to represent their views, who then decide they know best.

I totally agree, and I often have difficulty believing that these individuals have the best interests of their community at heart. When politics, business and the media operate on a revolving door system, it becomes even tougher to discover their true intentions!
I must say as someone writing a story with quite a good sum of politicians this is a piece I really enjoyed, since it in a way taps into my own I guess for lack of a better word "anarchist" in the way that I am someone who does not trust politicians that much and this piece I think could maybe make people think more about how much they trust politcians... I am sorry if I am not making sense so in other words I really like this writing mostly because of the first few lines in you mention how the people in power behind close doors make you nervous because I think that explains quite a well one of the main problems in most government that people don't really trust. Yet they do not really do anything about it. In conclusion I really liked this mate.

It just worries me that so many old white men run the world. Politicians aside, big business is exactly as hard to trust, and a CEO can have just as much influence, and wreak just as much havoc, as almost any politician!
