Let's Celebrate

Let's Celebrate

A Poem by P.M. Fox

He was a quiet boy
He was never in trouble
He was up for anything
And he was very humble.

He had friends
He had reason
He wanted to celebrate
He wasn't committing treason.

So he went to the pub
To celebrate leaving school
He decided to leave early
And leave his friends to act like fools.

But on his way home
They came from nowhere
Thieves with knives
Who was he, they didn't care.

No matter how hard he fought
He knew this was the end
The damage being done
No doctor could mend.

To make matters worse
They brought him home dead
To his mothers house
With the knife in his head.

His parents got worried
He had never come home
Little did they know
He was with their garden gnomes.

His mother found him
Later that day
She wondered what she had done wrong
Why she had to pay.

That boy is buried
In a lonesome grave
Where he is honored
For being so brave.

Those low life scum
Lets call them what they are
They got away
But didn't get far.

That dreadful night
They crashed their car
Now they are finished
But they're not where the saints are.
