Away, AwayA Poem by GlitterOnTheFloorThis is a narrative, almost lyrical poem of a love deemed by others as faulty but continued to persist amidst all the cruel judgements.AWAY, AWAY Away, away, my soul to take And down to you it falls Then by these walls, a home to make As hooded strangers call Beneath the dark and candle’s light You held me tight to sleep Away, away, my soul took flight And fell to you in deep And torchlights flamed a killing spree As souls outside threw spears You held at love and onto me And my soul broke to tears Away, away, our souls have swept Away from Satan’s blades Yet both our souls are chained and kept By hooded strangers’ spades So we’ll hold on to what was here As love, and faith, and death For souls beyond the walls do fear Away to their last breath. © 2018 GlitterOnTheFloorReviews
