Heart of a Cardinal

Heart of a Cardinal

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

Charmed by a Valentine Cardinal on February 14, 2025.
The Sun is Bright with Passionate Light...
Looking for His Mate with dusty Rose Breasts
A Quest to be blessed beyond the Nests where Spring will
bring chirping fledglings ready to fly through Orchards of
Peaches and Green Apples
Embracing the Romance...

My mom has a bird feeder and we often see cardinals with their females out the window.
With spring just around the corner (allegedly) what a lovely introduction into the season that warms our own cheeks and turns our attention more and more to amour and light, replacing cold and darkness.
I'm actually looking forward to springs thaw and losing a few layers if clothing, which will hopefully stop me looking like an overfilled don't! 😃
