First Snow of January 2025 by the Rappahannock River

First Snow of January 2025 by the Rappahannock River

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

After Midnight snow flurries danced on branches of sleeping Willows...

"
As Angels fluffed the feathered Pillows...

I remembered Monet's Lillies where they float softly

with mellow notes of Rhapsodies...

The silver majestic Moon moved across the Sky

to find Jupiter and Mars...

The fields of Delphinium flowers are

covered with moonbeams and sprinkled with

Star dust as the aphrodisiac Arts touch our Heart...

we become forever Florescent Blue...

Dear Pat, we have had snow flurries too, but no settled snow even though predicted. We are in the throes of mid winter cold, but I have Monet’s Lillies on my wall, to remind me of the seasons to come. And a crescent moon last night has currently got the company of planets as close neighbours. There is so much beauty in your poetry that you share with your readers even though this one ends on fluorescent blue notes. Happy new year to you and those you hold dear. 🌹

A little more than flurries here Pat. About 3 inches fell with bitterly cold winds and it was a good time for staying indoors and drinking hot chocolate (yes, with little marshmellows). Thanks for sharing your lovely poem, Pat.

Dear Pat
Your poetic voice touches me every time I read another beautifully seductive piece that opens my senses…. We are in winter which in itself is beautiful time, especially for the heavens and a touch of snow to kiss nature, not to forget the moonbeams , stardust and the blue hues of frost
Lovely always 🌷🌷🌷🌷
Warmly
