Russian Thistles known as Tumbleweed Space Invaders

Russian Thistles known as Tumbleweed Space Invaders

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Since 1873 Beautiful Pink Thistles grow on 100 million Acres, especially in the American Southwest.

"
Whistle if you need me-- I will be among the Thistles...

listening to the Clandestine Music of the Meadow Lark...

The greatest Secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places...

Lovers lie lovingly in the Sunshine as it warms the ground ...

Secrets melt like Lemon Drops as Winter Solace slumbers...

Seen my share of wildflowers and thistle down on the wind and those tumbling tumbleweeds rushing across the open highway of the interstate. Mostly out in the desert in and around the Sonoran. Saw the moon out there big as a saucer in the sky...I could count the craters...terrifying and beautiful at the same time. I watched the sun sink behind me in my rearview as I was headed east for home and it looked like darkness was chasing me down the road at the evening shadows fell. You paint a lovely scene with your words.

I love wild flowers Dear Pat, and didn't know that Thistles were so widespread......as they sway in the wind to melodic sounds...of the Meadowlark ...informing us that the winter solstice has passed and now the sun will shine a bit longer...warming lovers who lay on blankets and smooch.....
Lovely,
Warmly, B

A very beautiful poem. So very descriptive and imagery so very rich... It explores how beauty can be hidden in nature as always.
Words like "clandestine," "lovingly," and "melts" convey a sense of intimacy and warmth. The phrase "Lemon Drops" adds a whimsical and nostalgic quality, evoking childhood sweetness.

VERY BEAUTIFUL POEM.
