Snowy Mountain Ash bursts with Red Berries

Snowy Mountain Ash bursts with Red Berries

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

As December appears with lavender Tears...

We welcome the gentle Cedar Waxwings that appear

to discover a Buffet of vintage Seeds and red berries of

the Mountain Ash where Branches are thick and provide

a Haven for our feathered friends who dine with

wishes for the children and their families who

are kind and benevolent when snow storms

softly fall and colored lights are bright

within each Home with Evergreens filled

with Candy Canes and Gingerbread Cookies...

Hot Apple Cider and Yuletide Fires where

Hearts are warm and Christmas Chimes...

I hung my 2 Christmas stockings on my heater/air conditioner today, Pat. Tomorrow is December 1st and the Christmas season is upon us. Your poem, nicely written, reminds us of how Nature also brings in the season, not to mention the snow (I will send you all that we get here) and cold. Isn't it strange, how all things "return", yet nothing remains exactly the same?

Ah, Pat, any chance of getting some of that hot apple cider??? Please!!! -Curt

Happy Thanksgiving dear Pat. Your lovely poem is brimful of beautiful imagery of the natural world. We have containers with seeds in our own garden to feed our avian friends in the chill of winter and our deck is lit with coloured lights at this time of year. Yuletide fires you mention, and we have a log fire burning too when the colder days strike. Makes it warm and cosy for our family and friends. I wish you and yours warm days ahead and a beautiful day today.
