A Flock of Feathered Friends find warmth and shelter

A Flock of Feathered Friends find warmth and shelter

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

As the Wind blows the Snow... our feathered friends know that

under the Eaves of the Roof... there will be seeds and bits of fruit and berries...

The Heat from the Furnace is their Hearth where Pine Cones create a scent of

Balsam branches burning where flutter of wings bring sounds that attract the

Owls who know the feathered Nests that long for Spring and songs of the Swallows...

The Barn where Horses Neigh and Bales of Hay are soft as Clover in their Dreams

become the Joy of a new borne Foal when May welcomes June and July...

such a calming scene you set, Pat .. we don't include ourselves and life styles into the Nature of things a lot of times .. but our homes do share warmth and provide shelter for our feathered friends without our giving it a second thought .. i also enjoy your words pointing toward coming spring and summer .. very pleasant read for me
