An Old Fashioned Carriage Ride

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

Autumn colors in Kaleideoscope Dreams

The glow of Orange Pumpkins with

Chrysanthemum Roses.. .

Black Stallions trotting in Carriages

carrying Lovers to provocative places...

I went back to an age of my dreams. When carriages were horse-drawn. The evenings brought light from the glow of lanterns and the gardens were so elaborate and beautiful. Those times still exist somewhere, I'm sure. Thank you for this beautiful poem, dear Pat.

Such a wonderfully phrased poem that invokes such heartening imagery.
Such lovely verses, such tender tone, as if the wind has paid us a visit, and written us a song.
What a pleasant sight to see, such work rightfully deserved to be known as poetry.
Thank you for sharing your work, author Patricia Wedel, it reminds me of an Autumn daydream, enchanted with blossoming love despite the wearing weather having gone so chilly.

This takes me back to another time and place where romance was valued and of a far different style than exists today. Very poetic images here.

I looked up the Whippoorwill's song. I actually knew of the bird, but not of their call until now thanks to you. I really like "Kaleidoscope Dreams". The poem gives really nice vibes and imagery even for a short poem. Wonderfully penned. tyfs

Beautiful images that set a scene of romantic and alluring settings. Short though it is it gives a mood of fantasy where the mind can drift.

I simply cannot believe September is in its last week. It's been a while since I heard my mourning doves, but I keep hearing a distant train in the night that lulls me to sleep like a baby. Time seems to be ever more fleeting than it was yesterday, or was that just last September? Nothing better than Irving Berlin, but nothing compares to the pageantry of autumn! Beautiful work, Pat!
