On a Hot Dry Day 

All the Petals were drooping 

When the Rain Came by... 

A Cloud Burst appeared 

Blue Birds sang "Misty"  

A Song sung by Johnny Mathias... 

I get Misty just thinking of You ...

Rain is wonderful when it arrives after a period of sustained dryness. It weaves its magic spell and replenishes everything anew. It is no surprise that even the Bluebirds rejoice in its arrival and burst into song. Misty is a lovely song for them to sing, too.

Johnny Mathis is an all time favorite of mine .. such a beautiful voice and his songs all love songs .. i have a lilly plant whose leaves droop to the floor overnight when it needs that shower to pass overhead .. i water it and it responds almost instantly .. perking up and doing all right once again .. Johnny's songs can have the same effect for those forlorn and in love .. really enjoyed this one Pat. .. thanks for sharing

Thanks for explaining… Life seems Short and Poetry is a blessing. We just watched the Story about Ruth from the Bible on our TV. It seems those were turbulent times… also. However, people are born with a Spirit that is phenomenal. softly, Pat

I bought my daughter the movie, "The Star" and we watched it together. It's funny but it's about the birth of Jesus. It doesn't take itself too seriously or strive to be more than what it is, a fun cartoon for kids without being too dogmatic. But there's some great musical and acting talent in the film like, Tyler Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Kirk franklin, Kris Kristofferson, Mariah Carey, Tracy Morgan and Oprah Winfrey. Even Joel Osteen has a bit part in it. There are some who might find parts of it objectionable but it's not meant to portray Biblical accuracy, it's a story with talking animals on a mission to see the Christ child and understand the meaning of the Christmas Star. But I think most kids will enjoy it and be able to separate the idealism from the ideology. After all, we knew that Coyote would never catch and eat that roadrunner no matter how hard he tried. (smile)

dearest Betty… isn’t it wonderful to speak in the language of the flowers… I have a large Container on a Cement Pedestal filled with rich Earth where I planted bright orange Lantana … Gorgeous black and gold fuzzy Bumble Bees 🐝 sip nectar from the flowers and I am at Peace… to help propagate the fruits and 🥕 🥗 vegetables along with the warm 🌞 Sun and cool Rain.. the Blue Birds are minstrels of the Misty 🎶 Music singing and dancing among the flowers. With the recent weather becoming more and more bizarre, we seem to be on a path that doesn't end anywhere nice. A path where people are dropping like flies because of the intense heat and just like the plants and flowers that have brought us so much joy in our lives, are looking less vibrant and hopefully the rains begin to fall before we and they do.
Of course, I'm in Scotland, where we did have quite a lovely summer of about two weeks, but are back in the path of normality of seeing just a tad too much of the wet stuff. I hear that we are soon to join the rest of the world in another heatwave, but they've being saying that since the pope was an altar boy and Mount everest was a pebble.
You should come to Scotland and see how the other half lives Pat, which is usually in waterproofs and in need of a kayak to go to the shops.
I'll try doing a raindance for you all and hope it doesn't backfire on me and I need to get ear height waders! 😊

We've had so much rain in Virginia this week. If Virginia is for lovers, they must be drowning! LOL! Last night, I did not see raindrops. It literally looked as if someone had a giant bucket and was just pouring water out. Anywho ... all this talk of rain ... without it, no flowers would grow; and nothing would be green.
