Rose Bee Balm and Butterflies

Rose Bee Balm and Butterflies

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Summer days with sunshine rays...

"
As the misty rain falls softly where Sparrows nest

the shadows of times spent are kept in Pots of Lantana

where memories of a Mother's love of scented Roses

permeate the warmth of Buttermilk skies where

Angels appear in cloud formations with rain drops...

Furry brown Rabbits discover tender orange Carrots

where Chipmunks scampered about in the Clover...

The White Cliffs of Dover remain a Mystery...

Many thanks for sharing such a wonderfully visual poem, Pat. You bring such pleasure to everyone in the cafe. Bless you and more, dear lady. Prayers, smiles and the gentlest of hugs are winging their way to both you and Roger.

The White Cliffs of Dover are considered the ever-standing strength of this country many people see as they go off and away around our world. Then, when they return - those cliffs are still here to welcome them back home.

The "summer rays" seem a bit intense this year. But the real culprit is the wildfires springing up. Half of Canada in flames with wildfires around the globe from California to Greece. Meanwhile, believe or not, certain scientists are predicting the coming of a new ice age because of the earth's Milankovitch cycles. NASA says it will be another 50 to 100 thousand years before the earth has another ice age. I have a feeling not nearly as much credit is due to human activity for "climate change" as natural cycles of the earth. Think of all the "greenhouse gasses" in the atmosphere during the dinosaurs reign which lasted 165 million years. All those giant plant animals expelling methane and the staggering amount of volcanic activity during that time. An article from PBS recently stated that cows currently emit 14.5 percent of all greenhouse gasses on the planet. Multiply that size of an animal to the size of dinosaurs like the brontosaurus and you get a feel for the reality of the subject. But I wander too far from home. Your poem is lovely. F.

Well Pat, before I read this I tried to say the title ten times really fast and failed miserably, but it did make me smile 😊
But never fear Pat, there was a famous wartime song called "There'll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover" and that was a mystery to even us. We thought it might be a secret Easter game we hadn't heard about where you catch a bird and paint it blue, but it turns out it was written by an American, who hadn't come within 3000 miles of Dover and might have found out either had a bluebird. I thought bluebirds were mythical until I visited America 😊

Wowzy woooo! A lucky man indeed. I saw them on YouTube. Awesome. You are welcome 😊
Yes Pat, you have done it again. You stimulate the senses with this lovely summer write. Soft, scented and delicate. Beautiful imagery of our natural world. The White Cliffs of Dover are no mystery to us Brits. They are as important to us as the Statue of Liberty is to you in the USA. They represent home and all that is good about it. Many a returning soldier. sailor airman would have wept at the first site of those cliffs. We are an island nation. Those cliffs represent home, where mothers and sweethearts wait. Where the bluebirds of happiness shall fly over white chalk even on dull and wet days. Have a beautiful weekend dear Pat.
