Wars remembered

Wars remembered

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Breathless Moments when Life ended...

"
Through the Years and Tears we have lost sight of
the men and women who sacrificed for our freedom
from Tyranny...
Our Land of Prosperity fought for in Wars to keep
our Country a place where Knowledge and Documents
give us determination to have Law and Order, along with
Honor and Reverence for Human Lives... a Land of
Liberty and a Constitution to establish Peace and Love.
  gently, Pat

How I wish we could all forget war and how to make it. How I wish we could learn to live together in harmony and peace. But as long as we have borders and governments; tyrants and despots, as long as there is cruelty, hatred and avarice, I fear we shall always feel the need to defend that which is good from those who only want to destroy.

Patricia,

Thou hast penned a most excellent tribute to the existence of our noble (sadly, far less than honorable) and great nation of peoples from all lands upon this Earth that is well confessed as being all that it is worth of well worth the dying for ... The question is why are we required to die in war after war after war after war of Wars to end all Wars? ... Look to the United Nations for that answer, though you shall seek aimlessly, and receive no verifiable answer ... I truly enjoyed this piece of your heart penned to page ...

Dear Pat, I agree that we have lost sight of all the good and honorable things that made this country great and proud. So tragic. Instead of being the shining example on a hill, the bar has been lowered so far down into an abyss of corruption, falseness, profiteering, cowardice, disrespect, inhumanity- that the very earth can’t breathe. Thank you for your profound thoughts and very important write.

I'm a wee bit late for a memorial salute
but this poem speaks truth on a daily basis
for all our brave forces, our soldiers
our heroes who fought the battles rough
who defend our freedom ..and I'll gladly
Stand for those who stood for us
Great Tribute poem Pat. Every word..

I was really moved by your poem about the importance of remembering those who have fought for our freedom and the ideals that our country was founded on. Your words really captured the spirit of patriotism and honor that we should all strive for. I'd love to read more of your work! If you're interested, I recently wrote a poem called 'Tunnel of Love' that was inspired by the recent wars. I'd be honored if you took a look at it.

"On this Memorial Day, we pause to reflect,
To honor the fallen, with solemn respect.
Their bravery, their sacrifice, forever we'll hold,
In our hearts and souls, their stories unfold."

Very beautifully penned... I'm a bit late, to honor them through wishes, your poem reminds me to do. Well, thanks for this beautiful art.
