Our winged friends sing their Song. 

Bright Red Cardinals appear every Year... 

They bring their feathery friends 

the Purple Finch with beautiful Raspberry tones... 

Poinsettias will soon be seen among the Green 

with Blue lights and a Bright Star for the 

Wise Men to follow as we choose the Path 

to a Safe Harbor for all that Seek Peace and Love...

Winter birds are a lighthouse of nature in the depths of winter. Reminds me of one non-winter bird that braved the biting cold in the 'Happy Prince.' The first time we ever witnessed a red cardinal was one winter spent in Ohio. And its bright plumes against the white snow made it a perfect Christmas card image. We also had a blue finch once in our much warmer winter down under. It kept flitting to and from the car to the house like those runway lights guiding planes in their touchdown. Thanks for sharing Pat!

I noticed a blue jay the other day...and boy are they loud! Ever since my mourning doves nested, I'm ever so aware of our fine feathered friends, especially at the time of year when temps are beginning to fall. Hoping you have a most warm and very happy holiday, Pat!

dearest Kelly.. your visit is like a “falling Star” that I treasure. Suddenly a few days ago we had a flock of Blue Jays land on our large old Deck outside our large Kitchen window. I keep the Wide ledge of the Deck scattered with oiled Sunflower seed and plenty of smaller seeds for the Song 🎶 Birds and Sparrows. Bright Red Cardinals with their grey and tan Mates raise their fledgelings in our back yard with all the tall trees that blossom in the Spring. The young Cardinals learn to eat seeds on our Deck. We are blessed. Yes, we also have Mourning Doves, and when they fly… they are totally White underneath. Wishing you the Best Holidays. ❤️ love during the Christmas Season. dearest John… Hawks and Eagles are Wonderful to have around. Here in Virginia by the Rappahannock River… there are Eagles nesting here and there.
