Hibiscus petals softly feel the Autumn breeze

Hibiscus petals softly feel the Autumn breeze

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

When Hibiscus Petals softly play the chords of Autumn.
my Heart blossoms to kisses of persuasion placed on
feathers sweetly spread to feel the warmth of
falling raindrops of passions gift of Romance...
Blackberry Merlot Hibiscus Wine will fill your Mind
with visions of Goblins wandering among the Pumpkins
smiling with the "glow" of Black Cat eyes and cries
of screeching Owls on Halloween.

Hibiscus is such an amazing flower!
I loved the visions of those Goblins wandering among the Pumpkins with glowing cat eyes, dear Pat. Having read Enid Blyton voraciously all my childhood, I have developed such a connection with these fairy folk. The Goblins, elvs, brownies and pixies are so pretty.
Thank you for sharing such a beautiful poem.

well Pat I must say you are in a much finer mood about autumn than I am. Glad to have read your sweet-scented poem on the beauty of a season I don't ever look forward to.

A reminder dear Pat that we are moving towards Halloween and the vibrant colour of pumpkin lanterns. However the hibiscus is a most beautiful flower and still speaks to me of summer. Such delicate soft petals and the one I used to have in my garden was lilac. Such a beauty it was too. Your poem fills me with beautiful imagery and a touch of sadness too for things and people missing. Just lovely.

You have a wonderful connection to words, seen in the intricate weaving of sounds and connotations. The only stumble I had was in the last line, the use of perfect and perfection does not seem to add enough intrigue to warrant to reuse of the word, in my head. Unless I am just being obtuse, inn which case I hope you will illuminate me.

A last fleeting glimpse of summer, before the thought of autumn becomes a reality once more.
Seasons merge for me these days, as we had our first snow in September, ut ever so rarely we get an almost summer like day where we can pretend about happier days.
Hibiscus wine is a new one on me though, must look it out.
