Indigo Buntings and Sunflowers

Indigo Buntings and Sunflowers

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Summer symphonies among the flowers...

"
On an overcast day where Crepe Myrtle pray...
Sunflowers reach for Clouds that float
in an Ocean of Blue...
The Breeze becomes the Song of Autumn leaves
falling like feathers when fledglings fly to

 Sycamore trees...
Feeders are full of Sunflower seed where
Indigo Buntings preen their feathers and
complain about the Weather...
After the Rain drops cover the Roses

with Kisses of sweet perfume...
the Boughs of Nests cradle the Buntings
in Melodious waves of Summertime Blues...

It threw me that the rhyme and meter lasted exactly one line, I was all warmed up to flow with more of it...
In a way, that perhaps made me pay more attention thereafter.
The theme is wonderful and natural and inviting. It makes me think you are a gardener of flowers as well as of words.

As ever, your wording is unique and forever beautiful. You convert our planet into a palette of colour and scent. Beautiful Love and bestest wishes to both you and Roger. :)

This summer is so infinitely beautiful...
Sunflowers gold in a summer blue sky.
How truly magnificent is the sycamore tree that hosts the Indigo Buntings and gives them space to socialize...?
I close my eyes to feel the autumn breeze in your words and I can feel the melodies.

Beautifully expressed as I fell into the words, especially like the line== After the raindrops cover the roses with kisses of sweet perfume ;-] Lovely write.

You had me sighing with content by the end of this, Pat. There are few nature poets with your skill. Always so much beauty.
