Sweetest Music

Sweetest Music

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

The older the Violin... the sweeter the Music

"
An ancient Tale when Strings were new
A Mother's Bow swept across the brow of
a Baby born with talents embedded and
played Violins when Pharaohs were empowered.
The Music flowed on the Nile where Romance smiled...
A Princess with Violet eyes was mesmerized with
Secrets of the Pyramids where many a Scholar
discovered the "tools" to measure the outside World.
Blue Flamingoes flew about to Welcome the
Music of an ancient Art .. where once again

the Nile would be the Virgin River
where old Violins played their Rhapsodies...

Dear Pat. I loved the dance of words. I wanted to read more. You took me to beautiful and wonderful place. In one week. I will retire 100%. I will finish six stories needing ending and try to edit 2500 poems. Must publish somethings before I get too old. I will be on-line more. Thank you dear friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

The Princess with the violet eyes. My thoughts went straight to Elizabeth Taylor and the Cleopatra movie and Richard Burton. I was totally mesmerised watching for the first time, many years ago. Flamingoes are such graceful creatures and as I thought about them I remembered Manfred Mann and their song Pretty Flamingo. Blue ones would be something really special. My favourite violin concerto is by Mendelsson. Such a soulful piece. Your beautiful poem took me to many places dear Pat and many people. Sending warm wishes across the pond.

Yes Pat may they both rest RIP
Good morning Pat from across the world.
I enjoyed your sweet poem so much as the first poem I am reading early this morning.
My father was born in Russia but lived on the Nile from age 2 ( Born in 1913) until he was an adult.
His father was an artist and one of his watercolour paintings of the Nile sits atop our fireplace.
Ah, the music of the Nile..such a lovely thought.
Loved it...

I love the way you show us the great Nile River, in ancient times, where music flowed... and a princess was taken by the the magnificent pyramids....Blue Flamingos welcomed the music of "ancient art" the beginning of the violin as a musical instrument.... LOVELY!

even then...poetry, singer/songwriters who didn't even know what that term meant.
Feelings flowed artistically as smoothly as that Nile...
and old violins beget new violins...and we still play those rhapsodies today.
