Sweetest Music

Sweetest Music

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

The older the Violin... the sweeter the Music

"
An ancient Tale when Strings were new
A Mother's Bow swept across the brow of
a Baby born with talents embedded and
played Violins when Pharaohs were empowered.
The Music flowed on the Nile where Romance smiled...
A Princess with Violet eyes was mesmerized with
Secrets of the Pyramids where many a Scholar
discovered the "tools" to measure the outside World.
Blue Flamingoes flew about to Welcome the
Music of an ancient Art .. where once again

the Nile would be the Virgin River
where old Violins played their Rhapsodies...

Dear Pat. I loved the dance of words. I wanted to read more. You took me to beautiful and wonderful place. In one week. I will retire 100%. I will finish six stories needing ending and try to edit 2500 poems. Must publish somethings before I get too old. I will be on-line more. Thank you dear friend for sharing the outstanding poetry.

The Nile appears like a dancing Goddess aflutter with blue flamingos. The music from old violins bringing the ancient stones to sparkle with the spirit of love. A breathtaking moment captured from the archived lanes of time. I adore your imaginative pen.

Somehow a memory forms of a younger Elizabeth Taylor in pharaohnic princess outfit. Love how this comes to life with word painting Pat! A romanticised watercolour no less!

An evocative poem. I can picture the scene! I don't play the violin, but I do play stringed instruments (6-string guitar, 12-string guitar and 4-string ukulele), so music is important to me. I enjoyed reading this poem!

it's a very romantic notion my friend .. the mystery of the Nile ... older than ancient times and the music floating through the air over the waters ... however ... those days in Egyptian music had harps and lyres that were plucked .. not bowed ... this is not a criticism, Pat .. your poem inspired me to search things out a bit more .. the violin is at the top of my favorite instruments .. i even had a few lessons once upon a time ;) ... it's so good to be back at the Cafe' ... so wonderful to read what everyone has been up to in their writings ... i floated with the Pharaohs ... lazing back into the stern of their river boats all padded with pillows and beautiful women :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) great stuff ma'am ... sparked my imagination and stretched my education a bit

An ancient tale when strings were new A very evocative image to send the mind a wanderin' Pat.
of course, the first impression is of the story of Moses, a 2nd pass says a new Pharoah? A 3rd, summons Mark Anthony...so many possibilities reaching out from the gloom of the cradle of humankind's past, that most fertile of valleys
