Moody Moon in June

Moody Moon in June

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

The Moon curled around as the Cat purred softly...

"
Once upon a Midnight Mist I pondered the Moon

surrounded by a thousand Stars where moonbeams

dreamed of romantic Rendezvous where passions play...

The Curtain of Sapphire swayed and the Drama began.

Oh Romeo where art thou... and He slowly Bowed...

and promised to be true to his lovely Juliet who knew

it was only an Adventure with a Sad Ending... so she

drank the Wine and went to sleep forever...

Dearest Pat,
She did the wise thing by going to sleep and avoiding the pain and the tragedy that would have unfolded if she hadn't. I loved The Curtain of Sapphire and the thousands of stars that surrounded the moon. I adored the lover serenading his beloved. A poem most beautiful to read and behold in my mind.

Awww! :) so sweet
Dreaming of 'romantic Rendezvous where passions play'.
Such beautiful, soft imagery... with a gentle warning against romanticising.
Unlike Juliet who saw through the rose tinted glasses and took control of her Sad Ending.
So bittersweet - a battle that can't be won, it seems, not through victory or defeat.
Lovely! I'll likely read this several more times.

The moon in June, neath which lover's tend to croon, is always nice to be accompanied with a midnight sip of wine to enhance the tune.

Funny ... this piece puts together a lot of concepts that have been inhabiting my mind lately. I am reminded of the Neko Case singing she wishes she were the moon.

Lucky moon; the silent third in every romance; who moves one with ease to the next kiss.

Such soft wonders of the moon, the stars and in your pondering, your imagination goes wild with romantic notions of love and Passion between Romeo and Juliette, but then turns dark as death takes over the romance that was…..beautifully crafted Pat

Romeo and Juliet, those star-crossed lovers not even the "moody moon of June" could save.... I suspect that it was a combination of moon and wine that assisted you in writing this poem Patricia, along with being a romantic at heart of course.... "parting is such sweet sorrow" so they drank more wine.... ;0)

The lure of the moon and the spangle of a zillion stars. What a backdrop for romance. Loved the whole story of Romeo and Juliet, but you know I am partial to happy endings rather than tragedy. Beautiful, breathtaking poetry. Happy Sunday Pat. Love across the waves.

Good morning dearest Pat,
Using Romeo and Juliet in your lovely poem was oh so clever...so romantic...
Loved the words you used. It made my mind wander into thinking... "The Curtain of Sapphire sawyer and the Drama began. Really loved, loved, Loved that line...
From your first sentence to your last I was moved...and, so I read your poem several times...
Only and adventure is another great line... Now rethinking your poem I loved all your lines..
Thank you for sharing this so I could read something so wonderful before pushing myself to get the housework done...seems never ending...

I cut my romantic teeth on Romeo and Juliet and will always have a crush on Olivia Hussey...

so in the end, what did you figure out as you pondered the Moon.
This is a perfect poem to start my day.
