Swept Away

Swept Away

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

On the Wings of a Song...

"
Swept away by your Charms...
There were no Alarms... only Chapel Bells
on the Mountain Top where Eagles nest...
Our Feathers touched when Leonard Cohen sang
Hallelujah...
Cedar Waxwings came to Pray as we Lay
on Morning Sunbeams...
Their Repertoire was a high, thin "Bzeee" and a
sighing Whistle...
as we made Love among the thistle with
Lavender down...
A Crown of Mist surrounded the Church Steeple
in the Valley and Whippoorwills brought
peaceful Music to the  Choir and Parishioners...
Amen....

Oh, that's wonderful imagery! If only it could be like that forever and never get dull. Do you think that maybe what heaven could be like? To have that forever feeling of romance and never tire of it? It's a nice thought. Enjoyed this immensely. CD

Your poetry is worth its weight in gold. I don't know how you come up with wonderful lines and images, but I believe you were born with that talent. It might be also where you live that gives you lots of inspiration.

You are so correct that offering poetry is no easy task and, certainly you do have a much different style but that and the subject matter you choose, are more than a pleasant step away from the everyday.
The number of reads and endless positive reactions you receive are a confirmation of your enjoyable offerings
May a waxwing lay away an extra joy for your every day

Thank you dear Pat. I hope you are doing well my friend.
When we love, we become a part of everything beautiful, first and most Nature. We sweep away with the overwhelming feelings of bliss. This is what You always write about dear Pat. The gentleness of love.

P.S, keep writing as You do, some mistaken constructive criticism to something else. a poet without imagination is nothing.

Amen✨

Beautiful love poem Pat. I can remember feeling swept away by little kisses on a sunlit Sunday so many moons ago, and when still in my teens :) Love how your lines are interwoven with our avian friends. That just adds to the romance.
