Good morning dear Pat,
It has been awhile since I reviewed your words... It took me sometime to find a poem of yours I had not read and reviewed.
Anyway, found this lovely one of yours early this morning.
Funny, I should see this one this morning, as I was just outside picking our new and beautiful Glads..The colors are like I have never ever seen before..
And, each morning the birds wake me up... Sometimes they are crazy loud..and, that along with the roosters are quite disturbing...however this morning they sang a lovely sweet tune with no other noise to disturb their song...
I really enjoyed your poem Pat...

I hope someday, I can successfully grow Gladiolus. In the meantime, our Wegmans Store has a Winderful Open Florist with Star Lillie’s and Hydrangea and Snap Dragons, as well as Roses. I recently bought a Group of Lavender Gladiolus and we enjoyed their Company for quite a Spell. They Stand Tall and help us to do the Same. When we do not see Broadway Shows for years… we do indulge in a Chorus Line of Imported Dancers with Petals of all the Reviews, such as, “My Fair Lady” listening to “I could have danced all night”. And in the end, She brought to Mr. Higgins… his Slippers. And they Slept together happily ever after. Thank you Lisa for waking up my Senses to once again express my feelings. Oh Yes, who could forget The Rain in Spain…. Or the Hungarian who was was fascinated with Elisa Doolittle as a Princess. My Father’s family before me.. were born in Hungary. I Bid you Adieu, my friend. tenderly, Pat

although we have an adequate number of birds, I am always jealous of the varieties that you have in your area
Unfortunately I wouldn't know a brown thrasher even if it offered me a ride to distant seashores where there were pretty maids all standing in a row wearing party bells and cockle shells, all wanting to dance with me across feather soft sand in heartbeats of delight
Know what I mean?

we collectively thank you Pat .. the day was indeed super :)
Dearest Pat, you will wait patiently I know for the May storms to leave, and in the meantime you will still have our avian friends visit you before they move on. Lovely imagery in your lines and music too dear friend. Music features very much in my life. You reminded me of my parents today at the mention of Porgy and Bess. Yes we had vinyl, all those years back. Sending you love across the waves. Hoping Roger continues making good progress.

I was fortunate to see Porgie and Bess in person in the Sixties at a Theatre in the Round in Shady Grove, Maryland. The song, "Bess, you is my Woman" by Porgy... and one of the Players called "Sportin Life" who stole the affection of Bess. Porgy was confined to a Wheel Chair. The Theatre in the Round was an Old Circus Tent that had held up for Years; however, the night we saw the Play.... half way through... it began to Rain heavily Outside (with holes in the old Circus Tent) ... just at the Moment when the Play was "set" on the Beach and a severe thunderstorm
was being performed with the Actors. The Play was interrupted for about 30 minutes until the Rain outside stopped. Folks had Brought Umbrellas because Rain was expected (and needed to use them) with holes in the Circus Tent Covering. I shall never forget that Night. As for Roger, he is surviving ... waiting for modern Surgery of the new Fistula for Dialysis to heal. Thank you for your Prayers and thoughts. tenderly, Pat

It seems that even today in Virginia, we have high winds after intense heat. The weather is unpredictable and even Grape Vineyards in California suffer from climate change. Beautifully expressed with poetic imagery. I particularly like the lines: "... as the Sea is/surrendering to the Billows of Gladiolas..."
