Brown Thrashers Splashing by the Sea

Brown Thrashers Splashing by the Sea

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

April Storms linger into May with

Thunder and Lightening dancing to

the Music of The Phantom of the Opera...

The Brown Thrashers stop by for Sea Weed

and then move on... while we mortals move

to the Jazz of Porgy and Bess...  as the Sea is

surrendering to the Billows of Gladiolas...

I Bid you Adieu... dear Friend...

Good morning dear Pat,
It has been awhile since I reviewed your words... It took me sometime to find a poem of yours I had not read and reviewed.
Anyway, found this lovely one of yours early this morning.
Funny, I should see this one this morning, as I was just outside picking our new and beautiful Glads..The colors are like I have never ever seen before..
And, each morning the birds wake me up... Sometimes they are crazy loud..and, that along with the roosters are quite disturbing...however this morning they sang a lovely sweet tune with no other noise to disturb their song...
I really enjoyed your poem Pat...

although we have an adequate number of birds, I am always jealous of the varieties that you have in your area
Unfortunately I wouldn't know a brown thrasher even if it offered me a ride to distant seashores where there were pretty maids all standing in a row wearing party bells and cockle shells, all wanting to dance with me across feather soft sand in heartbeats of delight
Know what I mean?

we collectively thank you Pat .. the day was indeed super :)
Dearest Pat, you will wait patiently I know for the May storms to leave, and in the meantime you will still have our avian friends visit you before they move on. Lovely imagery in your lines and music too dear friend. Music features very much in my life. You reminded me of my parents today at the mention of Porgy and Bess. Yes we had vinyl, all those years back. Sending you love across the waves. Hoping Roger continues making good progress.

Beautifully expressed with poetic imagery. I particularly like the lines: "... as the Sea is/surrendering to the Billows of Gladiolas..."
