Sunrise Breezes

Sunrise Breezes

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Gentle through the tender Spring Leaves... I listen to the Song Greensleeves...

"
Back when Love was a Sonnet and Spring breezes whistled
through the tender green leaves... Golden rays of Sun fell upon

Lovers as they walked on Primrose Paths of English Clover...

A flock of Migrant Warblers gathered Rainbow hues as if

Prayers were lifted from Parrish Pews on the early morning Dew...

Be still my Heart and never depart from Mourning the Loss of

so many who have Risen with the Sun where Blue Birds sing in

Heavens Choir along the River where Poets hold a Silver Quill...

When love was a sonnet and harp strings plucked the notes of Greensleeves, castles were lived in by Kings and Queens in merry Old England.

So many have been lost in warfare, so many who will not see another sunrise though bluebirds will always sing over the white cliffs of Dover and lovers too will walk hand in hand in fields of purple clover.

And our rivers will flow into the mouths of the thirsty sea, silvered by moonlight.

Thank you dear Pat for your poetry and the wonderful imagery it brings to this reader on a cold but very sunny April morning.

Thank you Robert… I love being Wistful…
gently, Pat
beautiful imagery Pat, soft color words, meaning of love, of cherished ones who have passed, perhaps in warfare. Never forget those special, brave souls. I love the primrose clover and the warbler. You crafted this well my dear and it really has a lot of substance.
Best, B
