'Mourning Dove of peace and Love'
Patricia Wedel,
I see the mourning dove every so often. With their lovely peach breast and whistling flight they are unique. Their is a pair that are lovely. They wait together as they each carefully pick up a little seed. But are so cautious and often fly away after a very short time. Beautifully rendered poem of spring which you wrote too. I found myself identifying with the sentiments so pretty.
Bless you.
Kathy

Robert fell in love with the Mountains and scenery. He accepted a Job in Utah... and that is where he met his "true love". They now are married and have moved to Norfolk, Virginia. His wife Leilani is in the Navy where they have a Home and two daughters age seven and nine. They are beautiful and happy and live close enough to visit often. I know they miss the Mountains in Utah as they loved Hiking and fishing. When their first born arrived... I flew out to SLC, Utah for 30 days and held the two-week old close to my Heart for many hours ... we went fishing on a Lake on top of Bear Mountain. It was a sunny balmy day with a Picnic Basket in tow ...
Leilani's Father was with us and I treasure the Beauty as a Mother Duck swam by with her ducklings. A week later we went fishing on another Lake on a Mountain and there were Chipmunks scampering beneath our feet. Here in Virginia, we have to watch out for Copperhead poisonous Snake and Water Moccasins and wear this and large Metal lined Boots. So I appreciate the Art of Hiking Mountains. Fondly, Pat

their song is so beautiful, I wonder what makes them so sad?
Probably the lack of peace in the world...
and flowering Plums are just so beautiful....those and the pink blossomed trees that bloom at the same time.
I want to take a live picture of it all and just savor it forever.
your poem takes me to it.
thank you, Pat

The Mourning Doves seem even more Melancholy. They are frequently at our large Old Deck Railing outside the Kitchen Window. They are part of our Family. I keep Seeds for all types of Birds on the Wie Deck Railing... I can see them up close and personal. The Best Gift was two weeks ago, when we saw a group of Blue Birds on Bare Branches outside a Large Picture Window upstairs where the Bedrooms give us always an Observatory View of Tall Pines and Holly Trees with Red Berries. It is a Poetic Prelude to Heaven to live here for Four years now. It is the Perfect Nusing Home as we experience our Silver and olden Years... through Tears and Longing for better days when Covid and threats of Extinction subside. Be Brave, my friend. gently, Pat

A very sweet picture here, an antidote against the harshness of the morning news. Perhaps we could ship some of those doves to Ukraine.

We have trees with blossoms in Virginia after a lot of sunny days and Rain. However this weekend March 12 and 13, 2022; it is predicted we may have Snow on Sunday. Such is Mother Nature and her Whims. Spring and Summer will appear as usual. Charmed by their Presence eventually. gently, Pat
always the flowing, flowering words from Ms. Pat! ;) loverly scene .. the song of the morning doves is one of my favorites .. so easily recognizable .. so melancholy yet as your poem brings out .. heralds a wondrous hope in Spring's rebirth .. thanks for sharing!

Nature is full of love and hope.. Spring always feels like a new beginning..
Lovely poem..
Probably none of my business but did you intend for there to be two spaces between of and Rose?
I noticed it because I always carefully read poems..
I also found it interesting that you used caps before certain words..As I am new to the construction of poetry and learning different styles I am always curious,,

I always treasure your reviews... as for the extra space in a phrase (that what not intended). I am a novice when it comes to the proper styles of poetry. I tend to use Caps for emphasis, e.g., "Winter sleeps in Beds of Violets". It is rare that I "coin" a word or a phrase. I believe in the Romance of poetry. I think of orchestrating a Mood... therefor when a famous Opera Singer is known for raising and lowering their tone.. it may give one a certain feeling. Many poems become Songs. I am not especially gifted with Metaphors; however I may innately use one or more. I had a wonderful English teacher in High School who taught grammar and English Literature. In my Golden years... I remember her influence. Thank you for guiding me on a path of unique and proper poetry. We have a poet Richard who is gifted with he Talent of Sonnets and he writes in a style used by Shakespeare.
Spain must be a beautiful environment to write Poetry.
I appreciate Critiques. I "Wing" my way into poetry.

Not sure about the Caps..I do believe that poems are like music.. In my poem Innocence I say something like.. and, the whale waited...
