Buttermilk Sky

Buttermilk Sky

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

"The Cow jumped over the Moon and the Dish ran away with the Spoon"

"
The Winds of Time pass over the Wind Chimes

Cold Rain falls softly as droplets of Eventide

become stepping stones...

We are drawn to Candle-lit windows

where Music plays on the olde Victrola...

Hearts always Yearning for the touch of

Grandpa's aging smile given the Gift of more Time

(dedicated to Grandpa Dave Roop)

Hi Pat,
Had to go through many of your poems to find one I had not read..
Love the title of this lovely poem of yours...
Dedicating a poem to a loved relative is so so wonderful...
words like axing smile make me think of my wonderful father (died at 96) and his smile..this brings tears to my eyes..
Lisa, going to the beach this morning.. only 4 minutes away...first time this year!!

Your dedication of these gentle lines to Grandpa Dave Roop, touch the spirit dear Pat and remind me that those who have passed on, are still with us in our memories and how precious they are. The whole poem lifts me on what is going to be a difficult day, as my family say our final farewells to my mum. I have wind chimes and I listen to them often. I figure I will be listening even more in the coming months, to catch the breath of loved ones gone. Be safe and well dear friend. Thank you for the beauty of your poetry.
