Buttermilk Sky

Buttermilk Sky

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

"The Cow jumped over the Moon and the Dish ran away with the Spoon"

"
The Winds of Time pass over the Wind Chimes

Cold Rain falls softly as droplets of Eventide

become stepping stones...

We are drawn to Candle-lit windows

where Music plays on the olde Victrola...

Hearts always Yearning for the touch of

Grandpa's aging smile given the Gift of more Time

(dedicated to Grandpa Dave Roop)

Hi Pat,
Had to go through many of your poems to find one I had not read..
Love the title of this lovely poem of yours...
Dedicating a poem to a loved relative is so so wonderful...
words like axing smile make me think of my wonderful father (died at 96) and his smile..this brings tears to my eyes..
Lisa, going to the beach this morning.. only 4 minutes away...first time this year!!

What a lovely remembrance of your grandpa and the sound of the Victoria playing in the background….I use to sit on my grandpa’s lap while he told me funny stories….I love the last phrase….we never get enough time with our aging relatives….time moves too quickly. Nice piece Pat.

You're very welcome dear Pat!
The days of olde were tough times, full of hard work and daily battles to provide for the family, but in many ways the simpler life led made for a happier life and one that created many treasured memories. It's something we are slowly losing in our fast paced, technological modern world. It's nice to reminisce and remember those that came before. A proud dedication, Patricia. ❤

There’s something special with our grandparents, they have withstood the hardships of time, made sacrifices, and still remain together only to pass on their sacred values to us. Hats off to them for giving us a better life and understanding. Nice write Pat.
