A Pale Green Moon for Halloween

A Pale Green Moon for Halloween

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

The Moon on the Eve of Halloween appeared pale green as

Lizards surrounded the smiling Pumpkins with fire-lit eyes...

The stars scattered like broken strings of Pearls when Angels

collide with Witches in Black velvet Hats chasing Bats...

All Saints Knights in shining Armour walk the Fields of

Golden Cornstalks and Child-like Urchins searching for

Tricks or Treats with Black Cats prowling with Skeletons...

The innocence of Halloweens past... We recapture it briefly in our own children. But such times are fleeting. Soon only memories remain. Thank for that brief smile, though. Well written.

Hi Patricia, you do bring Halloween to life in this most creative write. Such wondrous visions fill my mind as I read through your perfect words. Your words sing into the soul. A Halloween song. Have a wonderful Monday. Hugs....Mike.

Ya gotta get excited when the moon is pale green & witches are chasing bats in black velvet hats! Sorry I did not catch this Halloween grand finale of yours. I needed a couple days off after chasing the Halloween merry-go-round with Dave Brown for a month. But it's great to find this, upon my return, & your spooky antics are word-painted in the most freakish tones of cadaver! (((HUGS)))

dearest Ghost... you have given my poem "the ultimate complement" and I am beholding. truly, Pat
You described a typical night of trick or treaters in all their myriad choices of costumes, as well as the underlying currents of Halloween in stories and songs. I love the visual elements, and the atmosphere. I'm not a fan of Halloween, but your poem is both spooky and innocent. Nicely done!
