A Quiet Morning in the Chapel

A Quiet Morning in the Chapel

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

The Sun rose and spread her shine on

every rose petal in the Parish Garden

where Prayers had settled on the Alter

with Candles burning as a penance for

the people of the Village in the Valley...

The Saints in stained glass windows are

blessed to have the light shine through...

A gently evocative poem. Reminds me so much of our parish church, (construction of which started in 1250 AD.) It is quite beautiful inside, has lovely stained glass windows and is a true haven in a world sometimes far to frantically paced.

Blessing to you and trust this festive season will bring you and yours joy and happiness.

Beccy.

A lovely moment and thought, of how even the simple effect of light shining though glass can inspire and comfort, in a place for inspired comfort to so many.
A wonderful perspective that makes me realise how it is always the simplest of things that can create such inspiration, and continue its own journey through your inspired words 😊

How lovely this poem, how lovely to be immortalised in a stained glass window.
The "g" has gone AWOL in the 6th line Patricia.

Being an alter boy in my youth I love the images you describe in this poem. There is a sacredness to them that resonate with me. Thank you Pat for your lovely poem.

My Mother is the Nurse in this stained glass photo...
She has passed to Glory as have many others in the Village...
And yet the Light still shines through to go out into the
World and share God's blessings with everyone you meet...
