A gently evocative poem. Reminds me so much of our parish church, (construction of which started in 1250 AD.) It is quite beautiful inside, has lovely stained glass windows and is a true haven in a world sometimes far to frantically paced.
Blessing to you and trust this festive season will bring you and yours joy and happiness.
Beccy.

I love the quaint Parish Reverence. We have an Episcopal Church in lee Town Fredericksburg with stained glass windows and a Pipe Organ that brings love and harmony to our Spirit. This year especially is a very Spiritual year with so many Immigrants with babies and young children. Our prayers are especially for the Innocent who are displaced with promises that has changed our Country... The Holy Spirit will guide our ways, Wishing you and yours a safe and healthy Season of love and devotion. gently, Pat

I spent many hours at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. The first floor is lined with stained glass windows on each side... depicting many scenes and venues to ponder. Often the Sun came through the Windows and made a Rainbow on the white marble Pilars inside. You could walk or take an Elevator to the very top and look out smaller Windows and see the Gargoyles sitting on the Nooks and Corners outside.
On the first floor is a huge Platform where Preachers of different Faiths would give Sermons. Dignitaries and Leaders of the World might meet there for a Funeral. Once Blind people spoke and sang Songs for our Salvation and so forth. There are Pews and many seats for a Thousand at least. Yes, the Light does shine through for everyone who will be open to the Beauty.
Love and Prayers for everyone from the Past and Present, and Future. tenderly, Pat.

What a beautiful write. It calmed my spirit. I think you would want to know of a typo. There is one in line 2.

Why is it so difficult to teach these Immigrants to build villages and cities and to learn and grow the same as most of our forefathers worked very hard to build shelters and grow food as well as.. milk Cows and feed Chickens and Turkies.... Why do we have to suffer at the expense of our Leaders who are not doing this very thing as our forefathers struggled to do. When the "Light" shines through the stained Glass windows... it becomes very clear. This is my Prayer. God helps those who help themselves. gently, Pat
I have seen many church windows, glorious stained glass of all colors, where the different saints reflect .the sin shining through for an outstanding sight. The candles soft light for those not as lucky.
Lovely write Pat

Beautiful. Your gentle images filter through warming the reader. Makes me think of that old Brown's song 'The Chapel Bells Were Ringing,' for little Jimmy Brown.

Light is spiritually uplifting and your words here Pat reminded me how sunlight shining anywhere and candle light flickering can brighten low mood. Rays of sun have just pierced a morning cloud here. How lovely that is. Sending love across the waves.
