Such great memories of when me and my older brother(whom has passed way to soon), were young and playing in the rain. I guess rain makes more happy than just the birds and flowers. As my grandparents always used to say, in our darkest hours, rain comes as the teardrops from heaven when you need a special visit! Such a great read as always :)
ohhhhhhhhhhhh this is so you, Pat! I love the emotion, scene and setting .. what a fine haiku says i! "Portulaca Moss Rroses" ...c'mon!! no one but you dear friend! absolutely loverly

This is the first year I acquired some already started and placed them under a Maple tree with some Sun. Lovely to meet new people and new flowers. Love your review. Hope you are Cool in the Ozarks. I remember when and where I discovered Portulaca "moss roses'.. they are so fragile, but hardy at the same time. They love the Sun; however, I water them in the cool of the morning or evening. A Reverent and his wife had a Gardner who brought them new plants every Spring.
I do not believe they are a perennial. My Mother grew Roses and they appeared each year. She also "China painted" flowers on "China Plates and baked them in a special 'kiln" that her Art teacher had in her home. I would sit through some of the classes. My Mom painted a china Cup and Saucer with Violets and delicate green leaves. truly, Pat
