Spring Firecracker

Spring Firecracker

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Beautiful clusters of flowers...

"
Pollinator perks with rose-colored petals.
with tinges of orange...

A  gem of a Bunting flies by with

shades of turquoise and orange...

Lazuli Buntings are native to

the Santa Monica Mountains...

It takes a week for the females to weave

their nests with spider webs and silk from

caterpillars... the scientific name is Passerina amoena

meaning "beautiful Sparrow"...

I so enjoy the obvious pleasure you get from your special All Around world, Pat. Interesting to read how intensely you learn and treasure the how and what birds create their nests with different 'recipes' of items. Have had a week plus of sunshine here so the buds are waking up and gradually green is the prime colour.. Is beautiful! And so is your poem, thank you for sharing it. Keep safe, take care. x

Another pollinator! Wow, your words and color images are quite descriptive of this lovely poem about Lazuli Buntings... didn't know their behaviors until reading this; how interesting that they weave their nests with silk and spider webs from caterpillars. I assume a firecracker is blow-out of color flowers??
Always an expert on birds and flowers, love it!!

Nature is amazing with all it’s uniqueness and how the spider weaves it web to how the birds make their nest. I love this poem about nature and one of its many wonders

I never thought about birds as being pollenators, but why not? I am a pollenator myself, as I weave along my narrow aisles between plants in tall containers (too many rodents here to plant my stuff in the ground!) I am sprinkled with powder all over my clothing, which then distributes among other plants & blossoms! I love how your poetry teaches us the specifics about the various wildlife and how an ecosystem is a cooperative & interconnected place! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
