Sunflowers Stand Tall

Sunflowers Stand Tall

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

Facing the East when the Sun rises...

"
Now is the time to be sequestered in Sunshine

where Sunflowers smile and are planted six inches apart...

They need plenty of Spring water as the soft rain falls.

The Goldfinch sets on Cone Flowers perched for hours...

dreaming of their favorite black oiled sunflower seeds.

The Mourning Doves are always close by to offer Prayers

for all the Migrants that fly to higher ground until the

Seeds appear with berries and Fruit to nourish the children

who fled and crossed the Rio Grande for a better life...

dear Folks... the simple things of life are
now paramount to survival. Somehow the
World will come together to nourish the
Children and teach them to survive.
We pray and visualize people helping people.
Wisdom is contagious. gently, Pat

This is a delicious poem about spring and the renewal of life that springs forth from the ground bringing with it the wild life that uses the plants as nourishment.

This is delightful bright and cheery with warmth and color for description and the I can almost hear the birds singing

If only more human beings had the height and strength as Sunflowers have and could teach Earth's population how to treat those vunerable. A great man said, long, long ago, 'Suffer the little children to come unto me... ' These days politics, borders, money and Evil ignore those words , because they have neither true humanity nor shame

Your words are lovely and all but, their theme is more than pretty, dear Pat. Take care, keep safe. Luv.

You have touched my heart Pat. Children should always be sequestered in sunshine and sunflower smiles. Your beauty and compassion shines my dear friend. :) Julie

Sunflowers, of all the worldly blossoms, are most impressive the way they fan their big bold heads from one horizon to the other, scanning the light-fest thru-out the day. I've never grown them . . . too windy here & I'm too lazy to stake up flowers. I have enuf work to do, staking tomatoes, squash & cukes! (I will do the work of staking something that I can eat, eventually, but not something that provides only beauty!) We have doves here . . . which we call pigeons . . . & they are spectacular, with bold black & white markings, as they swoop against the dark evergreen of live oaks (which do not lose their leaves & provide this lush background year-round). See how your poem puts me to flights of fancy? Truth be told, I had to stop writing that damn book becuz the outdoors were beckoning now that we've finally gotten into some springlike weather (altho still 30's by morn! brrr!) I'm a warm-weather baby & I need it to be 90* by day & 65* by night, then I'll stop whining (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Wow... Be still my 💜 Heart... Pat
I saw a photograph of a young boy, no older than nine who had been abandoned at the border. In tears, bewildered and terrified. I know many children are being left this way and I am so fearful for what will happen to them. There are so many evil people who will take advantage of their vulnerability. The picture made me cry and stayed on my mind for two days, and now it returns again. Such contrast in the beauty of nature in your first lines dear Pat to the image still troubling me. A better solution is sorely needed. Open borders to me are senseless. There has to be a controlled solution. All good wishes winging their way to you.
