Sacred Spirit Shaman

Sacred Spirit Shaman

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

A Red Scarlet Tanager appears in Eastern North America in May or June...

"
To everything there is a purpose... to every cause an effect.  The Scarlet Tanager

and his Mate... a pale Olive green bring Joy and Peace with the embrace of the

Evergreen Branches where they make their Nest.  They fly across the Gulf of Mexico between

their breeding grounds in Eastern North America and their wintering grounds in South America.

We are blessed with their Presence.

In agreement with Dave Brown, here's yet another bright red bird that we never see in the west. Last evening I watched "A Million Ways to Die in the West" (warning: crude humor - but I love it!) & they forgot to list that we can die in the West from never seeing a bundle of fluttering scarlet feathers! I love how your red & green symbolize joy & peace (holidays), albeit still simmering in early spring with all the excitement one might feel on Christmas morn, awaiting the surprise guests. I published my book yesterday, it's available today, & now I'm free to be outside again, just in time to enjoy spring & all the birds that have not yet pecked away my winter lettuce (which I put outside now) *smile* Your poetry sends me to all the lovey-fuzzy-feathery places! Here's hoping your spring is starting out as joyful as mine! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Such a beautiful bird. I don't believe we have them in California, at least I've never seen one. Your poetry on nature is absolutely the best Pat. I love looking through your eyes. Hugs, Julie

Dear Pat, what a truly beautiful bird. The colouring is exquisite. It never ceases to amaze me how far they travel to reach their breeding grounds. You are blessed if you have these avian friends in your company. Thank you for your uplifting poetry on the wonders of nature. All good wishes from over the pond. Keep well my friend.

As lovely description of what you show as exquisite birds. I’m sorry that I am not familiar with them. I like the way you presented the reader with their mating behavior. Thanks always pat for sharing your love of birds.

As a bird guy I am disappointed that this is another bird not coming west for the holidays
We are on the verge of receiving visits, likely the first being the swallow, which for me, is the beginning of nesting days although I see quite a few blackcap flying about with straw in the mouth and a number of squirrels have commandeered birdhouses for family time

They are beautiful birds. Did you ever see "Finding Forrester"?
In it, William says that the Tanager never strays that far from the park.
We all have beauty to contribute to society, but sometimes might be afraid to stray outside the box/park.
Lovely write, Pat.
