A stunning evening at the JFK Center. In all the years living on the east coast, I've never been the the Center. You show us a dreamy evening all bedecked with gowns and jewels and a lovely description of Swan Lake, which I have seen many times in NYC.
Take good care, sending good wishes,
Betty

I bet that was one hell of an experience. My second ex, with whom I am still close friends, is a dancer. She came from NY and did lots of ballet in her younger days.
Even several years ago here, I went to see her dance in Romeo and Juliet...ballet. she played Lady Capulet.
Beautiful...I used to go watch rehearsals because I liked watching the process of the dances, and then later seeing the end product.
what a thrill this must have been, to see the best.
thanks for sharing, Pat,
j.

This is one of the best of your poems I've ever read. The sheer titillation of your anticipation is pouring forth from your words. As you know, I'd rather go to an outdoor picnic than a hoity-toity indoor performance but your sparkling description is so humble yet effective, it could make a bear deign to traipse inside for some twinkly toes of an evening. The best part is your storytelling magic . . . you lead us thru the experience in so many detailed & palpable ways (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Roger knows a bit of German (to see you again). My father was Hungarian and I wish he would have spoke to me in his language and I could have learned easily. It is amazing how many languages exist. Do Poets in other languages rhyme in their language? I have such little time to learn so much... but then how many languages will we speak in the Spirit world someday? Hope you are enjoying the transformation to Spring. Love and morning glory greetings...

I just read a long delicious story by Coyote Poet (John) & he used quite a bit of Spanish in it, in dialogue & I could understand most of it. But if you put it into a good context, people will enjoy reading different languages, even if we don't understand the words exactly.

Your poem was and is a 'must', Pat. I love the Theatre for all its moods and performances so, reading your words, could see how it could be in Paris amongst those finely dressed people. But, the audience can never be as fine as the dancers on stage.. their elegance and energy are second only if not more to athletes. Reading a second time, sense a flight into another world.. and magical, visual and lovely.

I have never seen a ballet performance live, only on TV. I have seen Swan Lake though, and adored the whole performance. Swans, mate for life. I am reminded of their beauty and elegance on the river. The Russian ballet performance must have been an incredible experience. You two lovebirds dressed up to the hilt, on an occasion that you would never forget. Thank you dear Pat for sharing with us.
