Monastery Bells

Monastery Bells

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

As I wandered the Hills of Old Mexico

I heard the beautiful Chapel Bells ...

as a soft breeze rippled along the water's edge

where Tchaikovsky composed Swan Lake...

The Ballerina flowers were in an Arabesque..

You are an exquisite peddler of mystery! The mystery of birds, of music, of distant locales . . . as well as everything in nature that ties together & completes each mystery. Your poems are like mother earth, so many different habitats all dwelling beside & within & nearby each other . . . all these intertwined possibilities are required for a fulsome & healthy planet. Diversity rocks! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

My great, great grand father's people came from the old hills of Mexico (technically California back then) Now we enjoy rhyme, no disrespect to the composer but something like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEdj8J-Wods

Thank you “Song”.... 🎶
What a lovely brevity poem, chapel bells are so soothing, and water gently ripples along the lake, and to top is off the flowers are dancing to Tchaikovsky's melody....in a ballet position. Your words describe this scene filled with images, feel like I'm there. Best, Betty

As I wandered the hills of Old Mexico with you, I paused to admire the view. What a view that was. There's something about chapel bells ringing that adds to the ambience. I had a spring in my step too and my mind wandered to Wordsworth and our Lake District where I danced with daffodils. Beautifully visual and uplifting dear Pat. Thank you for that joy.
