Seed Seekers

Seed Seekers

A Poem by Patricia Wedel
"

White-winged Crossbills extract seeds from Cones ...

"
Soft orange-red feathers with knowing eyes

and full seductive BEEKS that gather seeds of Spruce Pine...

Wistful and provocative will attract attention in a misty rain.

I feel the melancholy looking out my frosty window pane...

Being Winter finches they also eat Sunflower seeds at feeders.

The red birds are male, while females and young birds are are

both tinged greenish... perhaps to celebrate St. Patricks Day...

Saint Brigid of county Kildare is the Patron saint of healers,

babies and fugitives.  We will be blessed with healing on March 17...

Fine ...
