Songs of New Adventures

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

My heart hums a lullaby along with a tufted titmouse

among the luscious Berries that surround the sanctuary...

Remembering the Glory days of Summer Romance and the dance...

We dream in the shade of the weeping willow whose age is unknown...

Dear Pat, I too am holding on to memories of my spring and summer. The days are cold, short and the nights are long. We also have the virus hovering and our country is back in full miserable lockdown. Even the birds seem to be more scarce than usual. I am hibernating indoors. Cosy by the fire, drinking plenty of hot tea and biding my time. Thankful more than ever for poetry and the joy that brings. Sending love across the waves.

I'm reading a book of short stories illustrating the lakota sioux way & yesterday I ran across this: "on the moon of the ripening berries" . . . which is what your poem reminded me of . . . something about berries just shouts "SPRING!" And right now (this winter being exceptionally DRY & steadily frosty for a Cali wimp) I am deliriously fantasizing about spring. In short, thanks for taking me there a bit early, cuz I really needed it this chilly morn (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

We look forward indeed to brighter days, warmer days, lovely days. Adventures are waiting around the bend, to turn the corner and usher in the New Year. We hope then walk the walk. Kudos

Aging is humming lullabies when Winter berries are the only color seen... however, Red berries will be our Survival as we smile and wait until God gives us Spring... softly, Pat
