Dear Pat, I too am holding on to memories of my spring and summer. The days are cold, short and the nights are long. We also have the virus hovering and our country is back in full miserable lockdown. Even the birds seem to be more scarce than usual. I am hibernating indoors. Cosy by the fire, drinking plenty of hot tea and biding my time. Thankful more than ever for poetry and the joy that brings. Sending love across the waves.

to be a Weeping Willow... and I am past a ripe old age. I am well seasoned with kindness by others. I weep mostly for our children who do not have the Security that we fought for in our Country. I do believe in Miracles and the least expected to protect us. There is nothing so constant as change... unless you are talking about love of Nature... but not Nature itself. If we want to keep family photos... why is it that people want to destroy our Statues in our Country. If we are not reminded of how we could have done things better... we might forget we did it wrong before. Just sayin. truly, Pat
Good morning, dear Pat. As always you leave such beautiful words to slide side to side and endlessly. Your world seems be such a calm one ~ although we all know differently. We all have to manage and use the best of what there is, ' ..Remembering the Glory days of Summer Romance and the dance..' to keep happy. The natural world is a true gift, isn't it, dear Petal? xx

We will have Tea and Oatmeal with fresh Raspberries. We only had a powdered snow on Christmas Day; however we may have more snow before March. The Red Cardinals and their elegant grey brown mates with their pale red caps are always at our feeding Station on the Rail of our deck. We have a clear view from the large Kitchen window. The "mourning doves" are very trusting and also the wee birds with speckles. In the last month large Blue Jays that are quite handsome and debonaire strut their feathers with an Air of musical showmanship. Also in our front yard feeder we have a couple Red-headed Woodpeckers that seem to be knocking some sense into their heads. on the trunks of our Maple trees. All in all it is most entertaining. Yes, it is a true gift... and so are you.
Love and best wishes. Patiently waiting for Spring, Petal x

I would like to be remembered as a flower... and so it goes. I was very impressed when a Preacher said to Roger's Father (at the "remembrance service" after Roger's Mother passed... the Preached advised to Ed that he consider remaining in their home, because Ed would be comforted to be near all the things the enjoyed together. But Ed chose to do otherwise, and sold most everything and sold the house two years later, and moved to Washington, D.C. to live with an old family friend. Ed died of a broken heart... perhaps if he had stayed in familiar surroundings... it could have a different ending. I read a Greeting Card in a Hallmark Store... it read... "in my Father's House are many Mansions; I hope mine is next to yours.".
If you only had a Christmas Tree Farm... You could stay near her memories. Love and prayers... Pat

we had a weeping willow in our yard...the neighbor had one, and gave my dad a root to grow.
Our tree grew so big and up over the roof of his garage...the neighbor's tree died...
He was not happy over that, but what a beautiful tree...i never figured out why it cried...
but I wept with it.

It was the beginning of his tenderness (other than the gentleness I expressed to him). No matter what adult experiences he endured,,, he always thought of the weeping willow. He is now fifty years old... married to a beautiful Navajo woman who is younger and very much an every day American. They have two girls six and eight years old. I am a "bird lover" to their delight. Thank you Jacob for an endearing review.
I love the story of the Root of your neighbor's Weeping Willow. It would be a great Chapter in a Novel. gently, Pat
a good feeling poem
unfortunately, your beautiful reference birds never seem to reach our area
however, along with hordes of blackcap, we have recently been visited by three thrush which have a beautifully haunting call
also just bought another new book by Mike Yipp who highlights all the birds in this area with beautiful photos
They are all a true blessing
take care out there
