Sleigh All Day

Sleigh All Day

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

All bundled up from head to toe...

We climbed up the Hill with our

Red Sleds in tow in the newly fallen Snow...

The bright Red Cardinals were flying around

like The Red Baron in his Airplane seeking Adventure.

We could hear the Sleigh Bells as Neighbors were

on their way to worship at the Church in the Valley.

Red Poinsettas smiled as we glided down into

a Wonderland of glistening ice cycles like

Chimes in the midst of heavenly bliss.

Snow Angels kissed each little Sparrow

where seeds of blessings were sprinkled...

This brought me back to my childhood, Pat. I remember dragging my sled to the top of the hill to ride down....total happiness and all smiles. my daddy would sometimes sit on the sled with me. Nice memories. This season seems to bring us all back to a simpler happier time! Your poem is a lovely happy snapshot, Pat. Lydi**

Fun-filled poem with lovely reminiscing of precious moments. You reminded me of the majestic snow-capped mountains of Lebanon in my childhood even during a civil war. Happy Fun...

All true and well said. You are welcome.
I didn't even have to dust off the memory of my old sled. It feels like yesterday my cousins and I would drag in the house with rosy cheeks and fingers burning cold. :) thank you, I loved the trip you took us on.

You brought me back to Snoopy's Christmas...when he and the Red Baron toasted each other,

and there was peace, at least for the day.
Sledding was always fun, especially if it was on a day when school was canceled...

Thank you Pat.
Merry Christmas to young and old...
as snow flurries fall on red berries
on Holly trees decorated with birds
