' A hummingbird lingers on the nightstand .. .. watching old silent movies on demand. ' Love the addition of how to feel your words.. a brief step left or right then.. returning to theme. Sweet and charming acknowledgement to yet more of your world, Pat.

My pleasure, Pat. Tis good to exchange as ever always.
If only we could remember to see the glory of nature within those we spend time with, we might be more reverent, as your poem sounds toward the object of this narrator's affection. Many times we misguided humans are focused on the human frailties of another. Reading your poem is the first time I thought about seeing the natural beauty of a person, the feathers, the fluttering, the fun . . . as a way to appreciate people by putting away our judgments, putting away our critical nature. This poem shows us how to fully & enthusiastically accept another by focusing on his/her beautiful natural qualities (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Perfect descriptions, most excellent sights, sounds and colors. You bring us deeper into the experiences and sensations. Always a treat when reading your lovely and mesmerizing poems.
Beautiful use of words. Dear Pat, the words danced to perfect ending. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Was it Grandma Moses who began painting in her golden years. Sometimes I use a word or phrase and later I think... where did that come from. I believe poetry can be mysterious. Graciously, Pat
Thanks Pat, I never knew you cared 🤗
Those eyes do work so wel in synch with your pen and always remind me of the old writing forums on MySpace that used to have photo challenges where all were welcome to right what they wish about the photo of the week.
I can't be the only one who misses MySpace for that, as well as its success at dealing with bots and trols.
I only mention this as your words always capture the essence and more from your images used and expand the story beyond the frame. Lime, Brandy, fire, feathers, waterlilies and lavender mentions fill the page with scents and a knowing comfort. only ever matched by the memory of my Gran and mum's home baking and the wondrous smell of my Granda"s pipe.
These are the mental happy places I go to when I need to relax and smile.
And even on its own, I love the colour splash of your photos that somehow drift and linger through your words.

Your nostalgic words blended with memories of my Grandma Minnie and how she loved the Art of cooking food. Breakfast was a celebration of a new day with Bacon and eggs over easy with grits and home fried potatoes with bits of onions... homemade biscuits with gravy and hot coffee. An early start with a smile. Of course Lilacs in Vases perfumed the Air. Yes, those were the days, and Grandpa listening to Hank William songs, such as, "I'm walking the floor over you... can't sleep a Wink it is true", or "It wasn't God that makes honky tonk angels". And now it is all about Politics and frozen food... and a Virus that only the Devil can let loose.
However, we can pen poems and Splash Colors to Kingdom come. Thank you Lorry for your delicious review. I bid you adieu. tenderly, Pat
Very beautiful and the hummingbird...yeah that was a brilliant line and they are my favorite of all Gods creatures. Just lovely

Dear Pat your poetic expression is a paint palette of wonder. I see you and Roger in your winter days. Beautiful birds, vibrant colours and water lilies. Even in winter there is something to be hopeful for and for us to count our blessings. I hold your feathered hand.... dreaming. We must hang on to our dreams. Sending love across the waves.

I was enchanted by your review... you inspired me a day or so ago and I waited for my muse to take me on that "primrose path". Love the "paint palette of wonder" ... Yes, Winter days are fast approaching and we have scented Candles and Pomegranates to begin the Dance. Roger seemed to like my poem. He is familiar with French and does edits my phrases. He doesn't mind having feathered hands and a hummer on the nightstand. He loves my wardrobe of Painted Bunting styles. He is the Eagle of my dreams where we 'nest" high on a Cliff beyond the perils on Earth. Blessings and good health for Thanksgiving and beyond. Love and prayers...

hands almost held, hugs almost felt,
love in isolation.

I used to have set of birds that were kits to paint...The Bunting was the first one I did.
