So detailed poetry you wrote. I was captivated by this reading. I never heard of a Crabapple tree. I looked it up, from what I saw so far it's not actually an apple? Thank you for educating me as well as entertaining me with your words. Wonderful poem, Patricia. It took me away. :)

The days of Winter. The birds do know when to escape South. I liked the description in your words. Nature, a life of it own. Wonderful to see dear Pat. Thank for sharing the amazing poem.

The Sun softly settles upon the scene as pumpkins smile and glow as evening quietly sings of bygone memories. I think I just got a glorious peek out your window and saw the goings on of birds and weather. I do the same thing and am always mesmerized by what I see. Robins hop around, pecking at the grass while blue jays behave badly. Sometimes a cardinal passes by, or tiny sparrows. All summer, I kept the hummingbirds in fresh nectar. Perhaps I kept them happy, for they finally just left the other day. (Oct. 4) Lucky you, being visited by woodpeckers.

I know you love the featheries & your poem is a loving tribute to their autumn gorging celebration, but at this moment I'm a little put out at the birdies for decimating my garden with their fierce foraging. Having so many wild trees & bushes that offer an abundance of berries this time of year, why must the birds peck my romaine to shreds? Well, at least they leave my strawberries alone! What's wrong with my lazy dogs -- they won't defend my garden from this swooping doom? Well, let me escape my troubles for a bit & just dwell in your poetic fantasy where the featheries are content to peck a passel of wild snacks. Great throbbing variety of sparkling detail, depicting how the bird community as a whole teems as if at an endless smorgasbord! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Sunday night Sunset has slipped beyond our vision and once again I sigh at the wonder of it all here on the east coast of the USA. Today I saw the same Cardinals with their feathers arranged in their own blending of Red colors... some Male and females are a light grey and and tan. They all have similar beers and appetites. Then there are the Maverick Cardinals with their unique looks and personalities. It is a privilege to see them up close and personal as they seem to know by instinct that they "have it made in the shade with a glass of lemonade. They say Cardinals are our loved ones passed away. Now, dear heart, I am distressed that the birds eat your Romaine lettuce. If only they knew that you need your vitamins and minerals.
We have been eating lots of Pineapple and I wonder where they are grown. When I lived in California for a year in 1959, near Napa Valley, we had steamed Artichokes every day. I trust you get enough nourishment. Can you reach the Berries on bushes that the Birds may have left just for you ... who knows? lol. not funny I know. Love and prayers, Pat
p.s. Thanks for your savory review of my poem xo

I actually enjoy much better health during the seasons that I'm able to grow & eat fruits & veggies in abundance. They say that good gut health is essential to pain management without meds. Love your description of birds & especially cardinals, becuz I've never seen a cardinal in person in my life!

What a magical place you've created and obviously, love to pieces. Thank you so much for sharing. Hope you and Rograre taking care, keeping safe and all. xx.

They mostly leave us, but because of COVID they will be replaced this year by flocks of snowbirds that will be coming to overwinter on Vancouver Island instead of going south as they usually do

“Snow Bird”.. an incredible song of warmth and peace. The father of my Son had Uncles who lived in Nova Scotia where his Mother grew up. This is such beautiful poetry and makes us envision such a beautiful picture! I love the mention of all the birds, but my favorite part was the mention of the gray clouds coming from the north. That was just a very beautiful thing to add in and your writing makes me very excited for fall!
