Such a contrast here dear Pat between the imagery of pure white, billowing clouds journeying through the sky., forming mountains and continents and the sensual thoughts of Arabian nights. Reminded me a book I read many moons ago and the richness and colour of the latter as well as the sensual and exotic oils and spices that spring to mind. You certainly know how to make a poetic mind wander. Wishing you a happy Thursday my friend.

Thank you dear Pat and may you have a peaceful day too. Warmest wishes from across the pond :)
Open verandah, wafting lace curtains and two lovers lie in each others arms post coital, watching those clouds billow.
Obviously, the arabian nights line fitted perfectly into my thoughts of a luxurious, palatial setting, conjured by your words Pat.
What a thought to get lost in.

Pat, this reads like a classic from one of the romantics. I must admit I'm a bit envious when I read you poems. My mind would never go or stay where yours travels. So much imagery and emotion streaming through this poem. I love the image, too, the beauty of the sky, the danger of the lightning, the magic of nature.

I keep searching for a near perfect thank you. “The beauty of the Sky, the danger of the lightening, the magic of nature” is why I was determined to post the photo I chose. I apologize for the delay... and I trust you realize I am honored by your review. tenderly, Pat

My son was born in 1970 and he married but younger wife about 8 or 9 years ago.. they have two daughters, ages 5 and 7. They go on a lot of Hikes in SLC Utah up in the Mountains. We live in Virginia... they visit us now and then. Happy Fourth of July to you. We enjoyed seeing Mount Rushmore last night on Cable TV. Just before that we watched (again) North by Northwest with Cary Grant (where he and his Love ended escaping down the Figures on Mount Rushmore. Very appropriate this 4th of July 2020. May your Fourth be as exciting as an intoxicated Whippoorwill. Lol .. tenderly, Pat

Yes, my first name is Robert. So, that should always be easy to remember. And, my brother, William (Bill) was born in 1970. He just celebrated his 50th. I have a 24 year old son and 26 year old daughter (no grandchildren). My brother is single and has no children (I think he regrets it now).
I must say I love Utah (and Virginia). I've traveled the US extensively and spent a week in the SLC and Provo areas in 2017. Beautiful country.

We went fishing on the top of two mountains... the first time I was holding my two week old granddaughter as my son Robert drove up and around a very Rock dirt road to the top. I held my granddaughter in the back seat to my breast as though I could shield her from the outrageous Bumps in the Road. Her Mother Leilani was in the front passenger seat... feeling that I would protect the Baby with every fiber of my being. She is now seven years old and brilliant. We took a picnic lunch and drinks and had folding chairs for us to fish, and a huge Umbrella to protect the baby from the Sun. They are avid Hikers and fishermen and women. I could write a Novel about my 30 day round rip ticket to embrace my granddaughter. In May of 2019, they came to Fredericksburg, Virginia, to visit us for a week. There are now two granddaughters, one seven and the other five. I was in my element. Their Mother has been accepted by the U.S. Navy and will go to Boot Camp in September. They will have an exciting life, and I am in Awe of their Courage. truly, Pat

I’m sure many here would enjoy reading them. Best to you this Monday. And, best wishes to your son and his wife. I spent 25 years in federal law enforcement and often worked closely with the Navy. Public service is an honor.
you make a movie of a poem or vice-versa...
the imagination on which we can write is infinite...and you use it so well.
There is such love in this...in panoramic terms...
and technicolor.

Nice contrast between soft clouds and the Arabian Knights. Sounds like you and your love are above the storm clouds (lightning and thunder) enjoying whatever your fantasy may be. Lovely rhythm to this poem Pat. Fondly, Betty
