Sun Rose with Petals soft

Sun Rose with Petals soft

A Poem by Patricia Wedel

There are mornings when the scent of Roses

rises and becomes the passion for creativity...

A tonic that lingers on the garden path where

Butterflies flutter and Sparrows sing of Spring...

The Roses reflect the Sun and leave an edge of

golden trim around each perfect petal as they

wait patiently to be picked for a bouquet...

Shades of Yellow and Peach with lavender close by...

A lovely Bride will carry an arrangement down the aisle.

The Church Steeple will ring with Blue Bells that grew

where love blossomed into a beautiful, "I do".

As the Lohengrin wedding march played on a piano

the Eaves of the Cathedral fluttered with Mourning Doves

as the Reverent said... "I pronounce you man and wife...

You may Kiss the Bride".

I could smell the roses as I read each line Pat. What a wonderful journey your pen took with this, as I read at the kitchen window, Sunday morn, birds singing and sun shining.
I want to go out into the garden now and smell the flowers. No roses here though, so I'll just take your words with me 😀

what a beautiful description of love walking down the aisle to greet its partner, and say "I do"---
and meanwhile the roses bloom in agreement and sanction the event.

This poem, your personal photos, & the pure awesomeness of your share (below) . . . all come together to make this a very enjoyable experience. You walk us thru the sights & smells & feelings so we become immersed. It feels like you might be on a nostalgia bender, as I've been lately! *wink! wink!* I love the way your poem doesn't start out with the wedding details, but rather eases into this sacred scene from a more ephemeral state of mind. Great details & strong tie-in going from flowers in the garden to flowers for the wedding party. Thank you for sharing what's uppermost in your heart (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
