We live in an age where adventure is necessary.
Thanks for your "butterfly mail". gently, Pat
I was just fortunate enough to happen upon this piece
as wonderful as thoughts of sea and surround can be, you've made it all that much more so
another uplifting read
The best part about this poem is how it feels like a gushing stream-of-consciousness stated in imagery. I love the seashore theme that ties everything together & I also love the various tangents of imagination along the way. Since I can't imagine a cardinal on the seashore (thinking of this bird as more of a woodland creature), I read this as a symbol for the angel that rests upon one's shoulder, a loved-one separated for some reason, maybe death, or location, or virus concerns. I love how the reading flows forth with urgency & power, enhanced by having no "sentence" breaks (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I like the sea shells and the rocks dear Pat. The sea always willing to give us gifts.
The world of memories could be so breathtakingly beautiful, I could never imagine. We read of sadness, grief, but this beauty...? I'm awed reading this. Heaven resides in your words, Ms. Pat. Loved, just loved the ships of yesterday. Thanks for such beauty of words...
A passionate poem of love and destiny, of yesteryear along with lovely, vivid images; misty mornings, waves crashing,, turquoise sky, awaiting the return of one’s love, though a treacherous feat to accomplish; very well written an flows like a dream!

Dearest Pat, your two lines stanzas here have transported me to sandy shores, sparkling waters and romance. I have my own sailor, once in the merchant navy. I love this poem, it is so uplifting.

Sailors and pirates are so romanticized and for good reason I suppose. We love men who live for adventure and embrace danger.
Beautiful poem, Patricia!
